Cannacycle

Did you know recycling your cannabis packaging could be complicating recycling more? Items sent to recycling plants go through rigorous sorting practices and much of our recycling gets processed in other countries. The transfer of any marijuana (even a small amount) can be considered “international drug trafficking”. This is why CannaCycle is such an important new organization! CannaCycle takes your old glass and plastic cannabis containers and gives them new life! First, the local team de-labels and sanitizes the containers. Then, plastics are sent to Portland, where they are melted down and recycled. Recycled glass cannabis containers are being used to create organic soy wax candles. They give eighty percent of the proceeds from the candles to the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Youth Initiative. CannaCycle drop bins are not legally allowed in recreational 502-licensed stores currently, but can be at glass shops like Cannabis City Glass & Gear.
